Prescot Cables 3-2 Clitheroe

Prescot Cables 3-2 Clitheroe, 21/10/17

A blistering start from Cables saw the home side two goals up within quarter of an hour, the opener looped in by Josh-Klein Davies on his first league start for the club and the second drilled home from the penalty spot by Jordan Wynne following a handball from Rowlands.

Clitheroe halved the deficit on 28mins when a curling effort from range took a wicked deflection off Cables skipper James McCulloch and beat Marcus Burgess.

The two goal advantage was restored for the home side on 52mins when Klein-Davies set up Josef Faux who drilled home emphatically.

Charlie Russell’s long range volley on 71mins for the visitors was not enough as Cables held on in inclement conditions to take the three points.
