Prescot Cables returned from a trip to West Yorkshire with a clean sheet and a point which consolidates their place in the end-of-season play-offs.
A dour match got off to a slow start. The main chance of the first half came in the 39th minute. A header in to the box from Baba Conte set Chris Almond up for a volley but unfortunately it fell straight into the Albion goalkeeper’s hands.
A shot from Ossett Albion’s Jack Stockdill came in the 69th minute but it was hit over the bar and out of play for a goal kick.
A bad challenge on Valter Fernandes in the 73rd minute saw Ossett Albion’s Ross Hardaker dismissed. In the aftermath of the incident, Baba Conte received a yellow card for an apparent coming together with Scott Metcalfe.
Struggling Albion defended stoutly during the final stages of the match, ensuring that the game ended goalless.
