Cables welcome the Owen McVeigh Foundation

Prescot Cables are pleased to host the Owen McVeigh Foundation during our upcoming pre-season friendly game at 3pm on Saturday 11th August when we take on Stalybridge Celtic at Volair Park.

The Owen McVeigh Foundation was set up in memory of Owen McVeigh who was only 11 years old when he passed away after a short diagnosis with leukaemia, The purpose of the charity is to raise funds to help and enrich the lives of children and their families fighting all forms of cancer in the Merseyside area.

There will be a collection taking place before and after the game to raise money for the foundation, there will also be merchandise available to purchase as well as a raffle.

We are proud to have Leah Whitehead and her family attend as our guests of honour, Leah is from Prescot and comes from a family of Cables fans. Leah and her family were beneficiaries of the foundation and have also been tremendous supporters of the foundation raising much needed funds.
