Prescot Cables produced a stellar performance at the IP Truck Parts Stadium as they comfortably dispatched Droylsden, running out 4-0 winners.
After last week’s poor performance at rivals City of Liverpool, this was a much-improved display. Right from the start of the match, the home side set about their opponents with attacking intent; as early as the fourth minute, Martyn Jackson hit the post with a fierce shot.
Cables took a deserved lead on 10 minutes when Matty Hamilton charged down goalkeeper Nathan Woodland’s clearance and fired the ball into an empty net.
The second half saw a rampant display from the Pesky Bulls. Matty Hamilton scored a penalty just after the hour mark following a sustained period of pressure from the home side.
Two nil became three nil in the 70th minute. Hamilton completed his hat-trick when he curled a brilliant free kick beyond Woodland into the top corner.
Sean Myler added Cables’ fourth goal to round off a superb afternoon for the home side on 75 minutes. The goal was created by substitute Josh Klein-Davies, who played the ball into Myler’s path, enabling the midfielder to fire home over the hapless Woodland.
Cables XI: Taylor, Schmitdinger, McCulloch, Gregory, McNally, Turner, Jackson, Hamilton (Woods 80), Myler, Dean, (Klein-Davies 75) Edgar (Atkins 79)
