Match Preview: Cables v Colne

There’s no rest for the Pesky Bulls at the moment and they return to action against Colne this evening for a BetVictor Northern Premier League North / West Division match. However, having kept consecutive clean sheets at the IP Truck Parts Stadium, Cables will hope to build on two solid performances with another good showing tonight.

Recent History

Thanks to a combination of inclement weather and Colne enjoying a record-breaking run in the Emirates FA Cup, tonight’s match is the first meeting of the Pesky Bulls and the Reds this season. Prescot did the ‘double’ over Colne last season, winning 3-1 at home and 1-0 away. Colne won both meetings during 2017-18 and the points were split during the 2016-17 campaign; both sides winning their home fixtures.

The Form Guide

Colne are without a win in their last four League matches and will travel to Prescot in 19th place in the table, albeit having played only 17 of their 38 matches (by contrast, Prescot have played 23 games). Colne’s match with Runcorn Linnets was postponed at the weekend, which aggravates their fixture backlog but does mean the Reds’ players will not have picked up injuries.
