Prescot Cables make one of their longest journey of the season tomorrow, when they travel North-East to face Dunston.
Dunston are in their first season at Step 4, having won the Northern League last season. However, the club is most famous for having won the FA Vase in 2012, defeating West Auckland Town 2-0 at Wembley Stadium.
The first-ever meeting between Prescot and Dunston took place on 14th September 2019 at the IP Truck Parts Stadium. Two evenly-matched teams fought out a scrappy game which ended 1-0 to Cables thanks to a fourth-minute James Edgar goal.
The Form Guide
Cables go into this game having lost their last three matches. However, long away trips often bring the best out of Prescot’s players and fans and last weekend’s free date may have helped to alieviate the injury problems which have bedevilled the squad.
Dunston have tasted defeat just once in their last six matches and, having played just 22 matches in the BetVictor Northern Premier League so far this season, may feel that they have an outside chance of reaching the play-offs
The match takes place at the UTS Stadium, Wellington Road, Dunston, Gateshead, NE11 9JL, with a 3:00pm kick-off. The home club are collecting for Gateshead Foodbank and would welcome any donations from visiting supporters.
The Supporters Club coach departs from the Hope & Anchor at 9:00am. Seats cost £15.00 for adults and £7.50 for children; bookings can be made by calling Robbie on 07488 258 279.
Admission on the turnstiles is just £7.00 for adults and £4.00 for concessions.
