Match Preview: Widnes v Cables

Following the derby victory over City of Liverpool last Saturday, Prescot Cables take on another local rival this weekend when they make the short journey to Widnes.

Recent History

The last meeting of the clubs took place in September at the IP Truck Parts Stadium. That fixture ended 3-0 to Prescot after Sean Myler scored against his former club to give Cables the lead. Matty Hamilton extended the home side’s lead before a late James Edgar penalty clinched the points in front of 265 spectators.

Josh Klein-Davies was in the Widnes starting line-up that night and will be hoping to take on his former teammates.

The Form Guide

Widnes go into this match sitting in 16th place in the BetVictor NPL North / West Division and having drawn 2-2 with 18th placed Ossett United last Saturday.

Following their morale-boosting victory last time out, Cables make the journey into Cheshire in 12th place in the division and having been invigorated by the return of two fan favourites, MJ Monaghan and Jordan Southworth.
