Two new Long Reads for Lockdown

In addition to the Cables Greats series of articles, which is being published on Saturdays and Wednesdays, we’re delighted to be adding additional Long Reads to the website whenever we can.

These are stories about specific elements of the club’s long history, or local football and its personalities.

Today, Glyn Williams looks at the club’s years in the Lancashire Combination, while Roy McDonald examines the refereeing career of Prescotian Jack Mitchell, who later joined the club’s Board of Directors.

If you haven’t already, you can check out the full collection of Long Reads in the History section of the website.

We’ve also been able to add the League Table from Prescot Athletic’s 1906-07 campaign (the first season played at Hope Street) to the League Table Archive, thanks to some help from Roy McDonald.
