Update From The Board

Sunset over The IP Truck Parts Stadium

Firstly, we hope you and your families and friends are all safe and well. This is such a strange time for us all but we know that everyone will be looking out for each other in one way or another.

We just wanted to give you a quick update on what’s been happening behind the scenes at our amazing club.

We have applied for a number grants and we are pleased to announce that we have been successful in securing some funds for the club to help see us through this difficult time, we are also awaiting an outcome on some others that have been applied for. This doesn’t mean that we are out of danger yet but it is a very positive start and we will continue to build on this.

Over the coming weeks we will be focusing on various topics and one of the topics will be fan engagement. The fans are the backbone of the club and we will look to put some activities on to keep you all entertained.  Keep an eye out on our social media channels for further details.

The pitch is looking well and is being maintained on a weekly basis. We have also applied for a grant from the Football Foundation which should cover a big chunk of the renovation. Once this is received, we will move ahead with the renovations and out maintenance contractor is ready to commence work immediately.

As part of the FA Club Programme that we are enrolled in, we have also started the process of setting up a charity arm to the club to engage with the local community and make sure that we can give back to our town and thanking them for many years of support. This will also help us to engage with local charities and small organisations on a much wider basis. This is something that we have been working on for many months and we are now in a strong position to move forward with it.

Dependent on government advice in the coming days, if the lockdown is relaxed and it is legal and also viable to do so, we will look to put on some volunteer days that will still abide with any social distancing rules. This will enable us to get some of the much needed closed season maintenance completed. We will update everyone regarding this in the coming weeks.

We have to date received no further updates from the league or FA on when the new season will commence but we are planning for a normal start date in August until we are told otherwise. This will ensure the club is ready and prepared for any scenario.

Finally we would like wish you all well and we hope that you all stay safe during these difficult times. Hopefully we can get back to some football in the coming months when it is safe to do so.
