Prescot Cables ran out comfortable winners this lunchtime against Pilkington FC as Craig Davies’ team continued their pre-season preparations at the Ruskin Drive Sports Complex.
After a slow start, Cables created a number a chances in the first half and took the lead on 29 minutes through Aaron Fleming. His low drive from the edge of the area beat everyone and found the back of the net.
The trialist commonly known as ‘Macca’ then got his second goal in as many games 4 minutes later as his well-timed run was matched by a lovely, lofted pass by Sean Myler, allowing him to head past the Pilks goalkeeper.
Another trialist made it 3-0 just before the break when Fleming’s cross was met by Caddy in the six yard area and he duly applied the finish.
The second half was a much scrappier affair as both sides made changes and rotated their squads.
However, the ever-dependable Lloyd Dean rounded off the scoring on 64 minutes, sliding in at the back post to slot home from 6 yards.
